Copper Wood Planter: Mid Century Inspired DIY

This copper wood planter is a DIY that I am very excited about! I'yard all about the mid-century modern look but wanted to put my ain twist on it, hence the copper. I used apparently copper bowls I picked upwardly at my local T.J. Maxx – nothing fancy! I love the hammered look of these copper bowls, specially against the blackness wood.

Materials:

  • Copper bowl
  • Wood
  • Saw
  • Sandpaper
  • Drill
  • Screws – large and medium sized ones
  • Black paint
  • Paint brush
  • Forest glue
  • Clamps

Instructions:

Note: I fabricated these two different ways in example you don't have access to a drill then I volition explain how to make it with a drill/power tools first and and so without 2nd.

Showtime by measuring out all of your pieces of wood. Yous will want four legs the same size, 1 piece to fit across (to concur the bowl), and so two small pieces the same size to dissect that. Taking your drill, drill a hole through each of the legs where you merely marked.

Adjacent, taking your long cross axle, drill a small pigsty into both ends of it (only to make the spiral go in easier).

Taking a spiral, drill or hand spiral it through one of your legs and into ane side of the cross beam. Repeat this on the opposite side of the cross axle. You will end up with a football game postal service blazon shape.

Taking your smaller cross axle pieces, drill a pigsty all the fashion through horizontally the long fashion. Do this to both of your pocket-size beams.

Taking a very very long screw, drill or paw screw it through one of the remaining legs and through ane of the smaller beams all the mode to the standing long cantankerous beam. Exercise this with the 4th leg and remaining small beam. You should now have a 4 legged plant stand!

Paint your planter black

To make without any power tools:

Exercise the same as steps 1-3 above. Annotation: if you practice not own a saw yous tin get wood cut at Home Depot if you know your measurements. Once all your wood is cutting to size, grab your wood gum and clamps and possibly an extra prepare of hands.
